Dear Friends:

Welcome to the inaugural edition of our E-Newsletter. We are presently enjoying a spate of truly exceptional weather – even by Pine Cay standards – bright, sunny days, light winds and calm, crystal-clear seas. Many days our guests have enjoyed two snorkel trips, bonefishing has been great and fresh mahi-mahi has regularly been on the menu.

NEW FEATURES :

For those of you who have not been to The Meridian Club this season, we have much news to report:

• We aren’t exactly a “new feature”, as we managed The Meridian Club from 2001-2004, but we have just completed the first year of our second term. We are extremely happy to be back “home” in this very special place.

• The Clubhouse, hotel rooms, gift shop and marina have all been upgraded – new furniture in the upstairs bar and in all rooms; all rooms repainted and redecorated; new lighting and mirrors in rooms and lobby bathrooms; greatly expanded selection of jewelry, clothing and accessories in gift shop; new marina layout with welcome center and Harbor Master’s office.

• We have a new fleet of boats, including two large ones with cabins and canopies for guest transportation, two runabouts, an upgraded snorkel boat, a designated deep sea fishing boat and a new flats boat specifically designed for bonefishing (just arrived)

• We have a new entertainment feature – the Sand Dollar Cinema – an outdoor drive-in movie under the stars viewed from golf buggies with short comedy classics such as The Three Stooges, Fawlty Towers and Abbot and Costello. Popcorn is served. We guarantee you’ve never had an experience like this before.

OLD FEATURES:

While we have undergone a “facelift” and introduced some new attractions, we have taken pains not to change the informal, uncrowded, friendly atmosphere that is our trademark. You will still see the usual smiling faces of veteran staff members, the same spectacular untrammeled beach and turquoise waters, and will experience the same private, unhurried, relaxing getaway vacation that we have always been known for. We don’t want to be what Provo and many other Caribbean islands have become. Small, safe, casual and tranquil is just fine.

RESERVATIONS & AVAILABILITY :

Although Pine Cay will never be crowded, our occupancy level has increased substantially this season and many departing guests have been booking ahead for next season. This is a good thing because it pays the bills and ensures that we can provide the level of service our guests deserve. However, we’d hate to have any of our long time friends lose a favorite time slot, or have a new guest miss a vacation window. Therefore, we encourage you to book well in advance, especially if you are looking at December – April.

The busiest part of our season is almost over. We still have some availability in May and a fair number of openings in June and July (our family months when children under 12 are welcome in the hotel). We’d love to hear from you if that time frame fits with your plans.
